Cleanliness Conditions

Below is the list of default routine / cleanliness conditions and a brief explanation of the issues represented by each of them.

  • Buildup – Lack of routine cleaning

  • Corners and Details – Incomplete cleaning, such as a chair that is only cleaned on the seat (while the corners or the area underneath the seating area are ignored)

  • Dust – Accumulation of several days of dust, lack of dry mopping

  • Litter – Unpoliced items, such as items on the floor that have clearly been there for a certain period of time. Freshly-dropped cups or other items would not be counted.

  • Polish – Lack of shine on floors, stainless, bright work, etc.

  • Project / Buildup – Accumulation of wax or dirt, or work that can no longer be completed by routine cleaning alone; a good way to test this is to use a piece of cloth to clean.

  • Residue – A small amount of something that remains after routine cleaning, or spills not removed during cleaning

  • Satisfactory – Like-new appearance (this is the only condition that is treated positively)

  • Spot Clean – Small amounts of defects on surface

  • Streaks – Incomplete cleaning, drying of surfaces, or use of dirty equipment during cleaning process

  • Unstocked Dispenser – No product in dispenser

  • Vacuum – The need to remove dust, debris in carpets, fabric chairs, etc.
